for Student Support During COVID-19
Over the last month, Canada has worked quickly to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. We know that the impacts of the virus and how life has changed during this time have put students in particularly difficult situations - from academic challenges to current job loss to lost summer employment and the difficult job market new graduates are unexpectedly finding themselves navigating. As governments have responded with numerous benefits and aids to support people in Canada, we have been hard at work engaging with the federal government to ensure that students actually have access to the supports created to help those most vulnerable, so they don’t fall through the cracks. On April 22nd, the Government announced a number of policy responses that closely mirror our recommendations.
